Virgin Bingo

This is not the first time we have stopped by Virgin Bingo for a visit. During our initial encounter we found them to be seriously lacking in several areas. You must have agreed, because Virgin Bingo has now undergone a major face lift. Now we can't wait to swing back by and check out the new look.

One key fact that hasn't changed during their upgrade is their partnership with St. Minver. St. Minver as you may know is a very common face in online Bingo that powers some of the biggest names in the business. While overall size does not a good hall make, it does make a difference in your Bingo experience. For example, having all these new friends to play with means that the chat rooms will always be active and the jackpots will always be growing. With all the players in the St. Minver network feeding into the same set of jackpots it doesn't take long at all for them to reach some very impressive levels. It is a great feature that when playing with St. Minver you gain access to their entire network rather than just one smaller hall.

The only downside to this equation is that all those other players show up everyday with the same goal that you do. They all want to win. This is one thing that really isn't any different from playing Bingo in the real world so it shouldn't bother you. And as always you have just as good a chance as anybody else. So go for it!

Switching gears for a minute to take stock of the overall design of the new hall we have to say that we are impressed. The site is well thought out and the presentation is really first rate. If 90-ball Bingo is your kind of fun then this is one place you won't be disappointed. This should come as no surprise to all you seasoned vets out there as it is a St. Minver hall. New players will feel like pros in no time with all the helpful info Virgin has ready and waiting for them. This is one of the areas that saw the most dramatic changes during the recent face lift, and they did a very nice job. Now Virgin is living up to their own great reputation rather than putting forth a half hearted offering.

If you are one that likes to spice up your fun with a little side action, then Virgin Bingo has what you've been craving. They have a select group of minigames to tempt you between games or, if your brave enough, during your Bingo fun. We love that the console is so nicely presented with the live chat functions fitted right into your main screen. Chat is important because it brings back the social aspect of Bingo that makes it so wonderful in the real world. We like this presentation because with everything all in one central location your screen stays free of clutter. Make sure you check out the regular chat games as they are a great way to meet new people and earn some yummy extra treats!

Registration is not a problem here. The process is pretty standard and offered no surprises. The one addition we would like to see would be a progress indicator bar. It took several minutes for all of our information to process, and with no status indicator we weren't sure if our computer had frozen or not. We know that this is a very minor point, but it is also a nice detail to have.

Now that we are on the subject of things that still need a bit of an upgrade, we want to point out the whole Mac issue. We run into problems here quite often and hate that even the big companies haven't really caught up with the times. We are happy to say that while it is possible to access Virgin Bingo using a Mac system, there are some hoops you have to jump through. No matter how hard we tried, there was no way to access the site using the combination of a Mac system and their own Safari browser. When we switched over to Internet Explorer everything came together, but this is just complicating. You can eventually make it to the Bingo, but you have to be pretty computer savvy to accomplish it.

Once we get past our issues using Macs, Virgin Bingo is a great all around place to play. Sure they may feel very familiar to any other site on the St. Minver network, but if the games weren't great then the network wouldn't be so popular. Take advantage of their new player offer and go see for yourself what they have come up with. If for no other reason then you should really see the new place, they have done a very nice job.
