When we hear the name Virgin, we expect to be wowed, awed, and just simply blown away on all counts. Unfortunately this is not what happened on our first visit to Virgin Bingo. To us is seemed at though the whole hall was pieced together by several different hands rather than being one smooth unit. Well, someone must have heard us because Virgin Bingo went in for a little tune up and they are now back and better than ever. Since we feel that everyone deserves a second chance, why don't we go see what they came up with?

One quick reminder before we get started is that for those of you who don't know, Virgin Bingo is part of the St. Minver network. This very lucrative partnership brings with it some significant player benefits. Now that we have looked at all the great reasons to stay and play with St. Minver, we still need to explore the downside. You need to view the halls on the St. Minver network more as portals than as actual individual sites. The games are the same no matter which door you come through. This means that you might be playing against someone from Butlins Bingo who has never heard of Virgin. As some players like to see a truly unique game for their Bingo fun, this can be a turn off. We say that the games must rock or you wouldn't constantly find them full!

Almost right away we discovered that the customer information section had undergone some very large changes. Before this was one of the weaker areas for the hall, but now new players should have zero problems finding exactly what they are searching for. And the place looks great! Virgin really pulled out all the stops to create an environment that we would want to play in. As with all St. Minver sites, the games are delivered using an Instant Play set-up. The console that Virgin uses is a very nice touch. Everything you could possibly need loads right up in one complete unit. We thought that having the minigames right there along with the chat and the Bingo made for a great addition to the fun. As we go through this new hall it really feels as though Virgin is watching the details this time around to present something truly great rather than second rate!

We think that if you make it this far then you're going to want to stick around for awhile. This means the inevitable trip to registration is right around the virtual corner. We will kill the suspense and tell you that it is everything you think it will be and more. No, not really. The whole system is pretty standard really, you just have to wait a few minutes for things to process and you are on your way!

When we tried to break into the games using our Mac system we ran into a few hurdles. Now this is kind of tricky so bear with us for a few minutes. If you are running the Safari internet browser on your Mac system then the games at Virgin will not run for you. However, if you have the capabilities to run Internet Explorer then you should have no problems. Some of the graphics didn't load quite right, but it was very similar to what we have run into on some even very large sites like Yahoo. Just try the Internet Explorer program and you should have no problems!

The only real problem that we ran into during our Virgin day was running the games on a Mac. This might seem like a big deal, but the games did work which is more than most of their competition can say! Virgin has put a huge amount of work into this hall to bring it up to the standards we have come to expect from them.
