Mushrooms in Garlic
This is a great little tapas-style dish, or it can be used as a starter. You can do it with prawns and add a little chilli – whatever you do, this is super tasty!
You will need:
- 400g of basic mushrooms – clean and slice them.
- Half a bulb of garlic
- Enough olive oil to fry/sauté the mushrooms
- A pinch of salt
- Chuck in a shot of sherry, or brandy (at the end)
Add the olive oil and garlic to a small frying pan.
Start adding the sliced mushroom once the garlic is frying gently.
Add the pinch of salt.
Once the mushrooms are cooked, you can tell because they are usually a darker colour, turn the heat off completely and then add the shot of sherry, or brandy.
If you can get a crusty baguette, serve with that chopped up, if not, then brown bread in little triangles, will also do!
NOTE: If you do add prawns, try and get fresh ones, if that isn’t possible, then make sure they are defrosted and put them on a paper towel to dry the excess water off them before they are fried. Also, remember to add a bit more olive oil when frying.
