They had history together and in that history, he cheated on her – with his nanny! This is usually a sure sign that the relationship is over – but, he could have had the balls to end it first. Cheating is a horrible thing to do and robs the other person of their self-esteem. No wonder she went back to him, it’s healing to be back in the driving seat and to call the shots. It’s also empowering to see that person for the way they are and then ending it on your terms. Sort of like…one for the road!
Relationships are all about TRUST! What I know, speaking from experience, is that when the trust is gone, it’s really hard to put it back. “When the glass is broken an’ all that…” Trust is a funny thing, it isn’t just cheating that can cause it to go either.
From my current relationship, I realised that trust enters into so many areas of your relationship; like trusting your man not to spend all his earnings on drink and going out, when you have nappies to buy, or trusting their reaction to situations. ‘Cheating’ is only one form of trust, but the most commonly thought of when you think of it being broken.
Men can change, I live with one that has proven that, but no one can truly change unless they want to. By the time they do decide to make a difference, they have normally caused too much damage and the glass just never makes the same sound again. I think Sienna got back her ‘mojo’ and then realised that he just wasn’t worth doing round two with! Good for her :)
