Mecca Bingo

The name Mecca is best known throughout the UK for their brick and mortar Bingo halls. The company has a rich history that makes for some very interesting study. For example, did you know that it was Mecca founder Eric Morley who first brought Bingo to the UK way back in the 1960's? Incidentally he was also the one to create the Miss World Beauty Pageant. Once introduced, Bingo spread through the land like wildfire growing quickly to become the game we know and love today. Now Mecca has moved on from its so called humble beginning to join the very prestigious Rank Group and they currently operate almost 120 clubs that boast a combined total of nearly 3 million members, now that is really impressive.

With all that Mecca has done for the game here in the UK we couldn't believe that it took until 2005 for them to break into the virtual world. Late bloomer or not, they are here now and are offering their own brand of 90-ball action. We can't wait to see if the World Wide Web version can match the real world wonder.

With the strong history Mecca offers, security is just not going to be an issue with this site. This is nice because it is one less thing to worry about, and it leaves your decision entirely up to the game quality. The site greets you pleasantly with bright colours and a good attitude. We also enjoyed the very clear navigation options that made us fell right at home. Just a few click and we were whisked away to the action.

We found ourselves faced with a lovely list of delightful Bingo options. We really liked that many of Mecca Bingo's offerings have a freeplay option, but didn't understand why it was not available on the 90-ball game. This is what we are here for after all. The games are delivered using custom non-downloading software that Mecca has created for their sole use. This means that they can offer you a truly unique experience to what you would find anywhere else. Judging by the high traffic volume we found there are plenty of people out there who really find Mecca's hall an enjoyable place to spend time. One added bonus to having all those people is that the Jackpots reflect the traffic. The software while not offering all the bells and whistles you could find else where is smooth and provides for a very nice overall experience. And in the end that's what really matters.

One rather large problem we ran into was loading and running the games on a Mac. Mecca puts it out there that their site is Mac friendly, but no matter how many different ways we tried, we couldn't find that to be true. So we headed over to customer service for some much needed help. The agents were awesome, answering our questions again and again with professionalism and courtesy on all fronts. However, even they couldn't fix our problem. We dug a little deeper into the situation and found that Mecca recognizes this problem and is currently working to fix it. Hopefully by the time this review makes it to you, this issue will be nothing but a memory.

Promotions are a bit shallow at Mecca Bingo, but they do offer a few. All new players are rewarded with a $10 bonus in their accounts when they match it with $10 of their own cash. Not the worst we have seen, but we've also seen better.

The name Mecca simply means Bingo, especially in the UK. They do a nice job here carrying over their real world level of quality and care into the virtual realm. There are a few kinks to work out, but overall the experience was top shelf. If a high action game with a name you know and love is what you're after, then Mecca Bingo may well by the place for you.
