Blackpool Bingo

When Blackpool comes to mind, so do some very interesting side notes; piers, towers, and freezing rain just to name a few. With all the local scene has to offer it's no wonder the locals have turned to indoor entertainment. In this "cozy" little Irish town, Bingo reigns supreme. The question is, would the online version, Blackpool Bingo, bring the same vibe or would we be feeling as though we were left out in the cold?

Now one nice thing to note here is we found out that Blackpool Bingo is owned by a firm out of New Zealand, not only that but they get to work out of the beautiful Antigua. That's a far cry from the freezing wind and rain you find coming in off the Irish Sea! Once we are able to put aside our obviously jealous tendencies, we really can appreciate the fact that Blackpool Bingo is run by Christchurch Casinos Ltd., a very well respected land based company. It makes us smile to know that Blackpool Bingo is run by a company known for integrity.

The first impression of the site is that it is very visually stimulating. The Vegas style Blackpool that it portrays is one we don't really recognize. Because of all these rich graphics, those players still using dial-up may find it a bit slow to load, but we've seen worse. While the graphics are vey nice to look at, they had very little to do with the actual town of Blackpool, other than a few postcards scattered here and there. The overall feel of the site is very friendly and inviting, and we found the new-user information particularly helpful. When you pair that with the straight forward navigation system, you could be on your way to playing in a matter minutes.

At Blackpool Bingo the games are offered using Playtech software. This type of platform does require you to download the software and install it on your computer before you can begin playing. While this type of system is not the norm for online Bingo, Playtech is not complicated to install. The upside is that you get a more distinctive experience for you game. For all you Mac users out there, we hate to say it, but Playtech is currently only available on PC's. It's unfortunate for you as these games prove to be a lot of fun. So now you have the software loaded up, you're all registered, and the only thing left is to jump right into the action. The site offers round-the-clock 90- ball games as well as a nice selection of non-Bingo attractions. By downloading the software you have the ability to customize your screen to fit your taste or mood. It makes for some very attractive play to say the least. Cards start at 10p each, but you are required to buy at least three cards for each game. There are several progressive jackpots to try for, and most of them start at $200.

Part of what make online Bingo so much fun is the chat. At Blackpool the chat loads up in a separate screen, which we did not like nearly as much as having everything all rolled into one. However, The CM's proved to be friendly and fun, and kept things moving right along. Blackpool's chat rooms were a little lower key than some of their big rivals, but we see that changing. More people are going to find out about this place and in doing so, find a new playground to love.

What would be the fun of playing a site if they didn't offer any promotions? We don't know, you tell us. Well fortunately for all of us, this is one problem you won't have to worry about. Blackpool has a section called "Paula's Gift shop," that we found to be particularly delightful. It allows players to pre-select a non-cash prize they have their eye on. This way if they happen to be chosen as Blackpool's Player of the Month you already know what you're gunning for. While on the surface the bonuses look very generous, we had some trouble sorting through the redemption criteria. We're not even sure if we've got it straight yet. But if this becomes your new Bingo home you can rest assured that the prizes are out there, all you have to do is win them!

If you happen to run into a problem, customer service is open for business 24/7. Blackpool offers support in the forms of E-mail, fax, and live chat; unfortunately there is no telephone support. Now this may just be us, but a free phone call can sometimes go a lot further in fixing a problem than some words on a page. We did use the existing model and found it to be friendly and efficient, so that's something at least.

All in all we believe that in the near future this will turn in to the place to be for 90-ball Bingo. While the site doesn't really keep the whole Blackpool feel alive, it does deliver on a great game of Bingo. And that in the end is what's really important.
